Historical development 2006 - 2009

2006
The iF Product Design Award 2006 goes to
Migatronic for product quality and commitment to innovation.

Migatronic introduces Scout MMA and TIG inverters, Zeta plasma cutting machines and multimotive machines for amongst others MIG soldering.

2007
Migatronic establishes a joint venture company in Suzhou together with the Chinese Weida group. The company has its own production.

Migatronic wins sizeable welding robots contract for German VW. In response to the order, Migatronic sets up a new business area dedicated to the automotive industry.

The Sigma series is expanded by more powersources, and Delta MMA and TIG are produced in a new design.

 2008

Migatronic launches new plasma welding machine, PI 400 as well as Sigma Offshore. Furthermore we introduce the coldwire feeders CWF Multi and RWF Multi for PI TIG 320, 400, 500 and 400 plasma.

2009

Migatronic’s theme at the Schweissen & Schneiden exhibition 2009 in Essen is ”the future”.

Among the novelties is IGC, Intelligent Gas Control, IGC is a dynamic gas concept which in many situa-tions reduces the gas consumption by 50 per cent.

Another revolutionary novelty this year is an ergo-nomic torch. The patented invention allows the

welder to hold his hand straight during welding in hard-to-reach locations because the handle is

turned around the swan neck – rather than the other way round.

TIG-A-Tack™ is also a new function on the large Pi welding machines, used for tack-welding stainless steel materials before finishing the welding. Just one push on a button activates the tack-welding function.

The ”Future” theme finds expression in a number of new products as well as in Migatronic’s develop-ment of control concepts designed to meet future demands. The welding machines are easy to update with programs for new processes, metals and gases.
